KAYDA

One of the leading female artists in the Malaysian Hip hop and R&B scene, KAYDA was born and bred in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Born in 1991, Kayda grew up in a musical environment where her parents who have worked in the music industry for more than 30 years are one of the most respected musicians in Malaysia (Her dad is a music producer and her mom is a singer). Kayda started writing her own music at the age of 13 and performed at Hip hop gigs during her teenage years. In 2013, while Kayda was completing her Bachelor's degree in Psychology, she began to slowly build her own name as a recording artiste and performed professionally in Malaysia and Singapore. Kayda was nominated for Best New Artist at the Malaysian Hip Hop Awards Dec 2013 held in Kuala Lumpur. In 2014, Kayda's first single "Down With Me" feat. Bem won Silver at the Voice International Music Awards (VIMA) and right after that, Kayda released a collaborative mixtape with Malaysian singer/rapper Hunny Madu titled "Go Hard Or Gostan". They were both nominated for Best duo/collaboration at the Anugerah Industri Muzik (Malaysian Music Awards)  in December 2016. In 2018, Kayda released her first album titled “Love for No Reason” produced by Emir Hermono, Bem & Puffietop. Kayda also started to pursue in acting and was offered a role as “Nadine” (the antagonist) in Astro Ria’s hit TV Series “Drama Mr Grey”.
